Working Cowboy competition. For all those working cowboys who are "non-rodeo" to earn
bragging rights for just who is "Top Hand"!
You must make your living being a working cowboy to qualify to enter this event.
No horses that have been competitively shown or professionally trained may be used in the
event - "Only Ranch Horses". Each event judged by 2 working cowboys.
Ranch Horse Competition consists of 3 events:
- 1 dry cowboy-reining pattern, cow work, and roping.
- 1 Man Doctoring: single contestant must rope, knock down, and simulate doctoring a steer.
- 2 Man Doctoring: teams must not leave a trot and head and heal a steer, knock him down
and simulate doctoring.

Additional feature:
The Cowboy Bronc Riding:
Does not count towards the top hand.
Must use a saddle that you can use at work, must have a horn.
Judged as a wild ride - 8 seconds.
Top Hand Competition will be held in conjunction with the Provincial Winter Fair and
Pioneer Barbecue in September. See the Provincial
